~memorial vessel for simplicity exhibition, 2010
in memorial vessel, a vintage glass plate that was given to me by my mother becomes a vessel capable of holding my heart’s connection to family and ancestral land, in the form of a small mound of red earth that i collected from an east texas field during the summer that my mother died. in these simple materials, i find meaning, and new connections.
